It was very clear prior to the Indiana Fever vs. Minnesota Lynx game that Caitlin Clark would be playing with a chip on her shoulder. Not only did Lynx and Team USA head coach Cheryl Reeve send a harsh message prior to the game, but it’s the continuation of a string of negativity.

Though Reeve’s past tweets were also very bad, perhaps the worst sign of disrespect was Clark not making the Olympic roster. Fortunately for Clark, she got her revenge in a victory over the Lynx. After the victory, Clark made sure to give Reeve a very cold look while hyping up the crowd, making for a movie-like moment.

The message was silent, but it was deadly as it said all it needed to. Clark led her team to a victory over the Lynx in Minnesota, and took over the crowd of her fans at an away game. This is a perfect example of the “Caitlin Clark effect” that Reeve doesn’t believe in.
