Truth about Harry, Meghan rumour | news.com.au — Australia's leading news site

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced to the world on Jan. 8, 2020, that they would step down as senior working members of the British royal family in a move popularly dubbed “Megxit.” By spring of 2020, the transition was complete, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were no longer performing royal duties.

Since then, they have lived in the United States with Meghan’s mother and their two children. Although he and Meghan stepped down from their duties as senior royals, they have not shunned the spotlight, appearing at public charity events and pursuing their own creative and philanthropic ventures, many under their brand, Archewell.

However, tensions between their small family and the most powerful family in the world have grown and created a wall between them. Scrutiny of Harry and Meghan has intensified, and people have started expressing their disdain for every move and decision they make, especially toward their children’s lives – Archie and Lilibet.

Among the biggest things that the public scorned about the couple was their decision to let their children keep their royal titles despite constantly criticizing the very institution that gave them said titles.

In light of the terrible health condition that King Charles III and Kate Middleton have been suffering, Harry and Meghan’s decision has taken the spotlight again. Meghan reportedly tries to keep herself and her family from returning to the United Kingdom, but Harry, who’s splitting himself in half in trying to think of his own family and his relationship with his father, brother William, and sister-in-law, Kate, is torn between them. Prior to the infamous “Megxit,” Harry reportedly had a great relationship with his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. However, as Meghan entered the picture, things seemed to have changed, which affected everyone. He detailed how Kate had made Meghan cry over a tailoring blunder.

Although it seems there is little love lost between the Sussexes and Wales, Harry and Meghan did issue a statement after Kate’s cancer diagnosis, saying they wished “health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”

However, some think that Harry must be feeling intense guilt following Kate’s cancer reveal. Author Tessa Dunlop surmised that Harry must be in a “painful place” and regret his treatment of Kate.

“When you do discover that your sister-in-law has cancer and you’ve written stuff that can’t be retracted, that’s quite a painful place to be in,” Dunlop said. “They deliberately criticize the monarchy (and then offer) themselves as an alternative to monarchy. So then when the monarchy is in trouble, we do kind of make a comparison.”

With the 2024 Invictus Games coming up, there have been heightened reports and rumors about the Sussexes’ return to the United Kingdom. While Prince Harry’s attendance is essentially confirmed, the possibility of having Meghan and the children back in the United States has been highly discussed.

A source told The Mirror, “It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe. The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go it alone.”

Meanwhile, there were reports that King Charles is extending an olive branch toward the Sussexes so that he may see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet over the summer.
