Fans were not happy after finding out the halftime performer for this weekend’s 2024 WNBA All-Star Game.

The league has experienced an upsurge in interest following the arrival of rookies Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, who are both first-time All-Stars. The WNBA has also just agreed to a massive, unprecedented media rights deal and isn’t looking to spare any expenses when it comes to the highly anticipated clash between its best players.

As such, the Phoenix Mercury has revealed that Grammy-winning rapper Pitbull will be performing at the WNBA All-Star Game’s halftime show.

“Mr. Worldwide is coming to Footprint Center for the @WNBA All-Star Game!” they announced.

Pitbull also got on social media, referring to his selection as an honor.

“I was raised by a woman and a woman made me a man. It’s an honor to make history and perform at the @WNBA All-Star Game. Here’s to all the powerful women of the WNBA. Daleee,” he tweeted.

Social Media Seemed Disappointed Following News Of Pitbull Performing At Halftime During The WNBA All-Star Game

The news came across as underwhelming, based on the way fans reacted.

“This was the best y’all could do?” one asked.

“Lol i dont remember a single pitbull song. Not one,” another claimed.

“Come on wnba y’all couldn’t make a call to get any poppin artist,” a comment read.

“there’s still time to cancel this and get @Flaujae Instead,” read another.

“yall shouldve gotten kehlani again smh,” one fan wrote.

“Gross,” another wrote. “Now I know that I wont be missing anything when I go to the Fan Shop at the half.”

Pitbull has produced several platinum albums over the years and has won dozens of awards. He has also done this sort of thing before, having performed during halftime of a Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving game a few years ago.

Still, it doesn’t appear that WNBA fans are looking forward to seeing him perform at the WNBA All-Star Game this year.
