Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce performed a kind gesture after hitting a fan with a terrible golf shot at the American Century Championship on Friday.

Travis Kelce is one of many notable athletes competing in the 2024 American Century Championship, an annual celebrity golf tournament. His brother, retired center and Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce, is also part of the field.

Per Chris Biderman of the Sacramento Bee, Kelce hit an errant shot on the first hole that struck a fan in the arm. Thankfully, the fan shook it off and avoided a serious injury. The fan also got the celebrity encounter of a lifetime, as Travis Kelce went over and kissed his arm:

Other celebrities competing in the tournament include former MLB stars Gary Sheffield, Mark Mulder, John Smoltz, Chase Utley, Shane Victorino, Jayson Werth and Roger Clemens, New York Jets QB Aaron Rodgers, retired NFL greats Larry Fitzgerald, DeMarcus Ware Brian Urlacher, Mike Vrabel, John Elway, Jerry Rice and former NBA stars Ray Allen and Vince Carter.

Kelce has a few more days of vacation time before the Chiefs begin training camp next week. The Chiefs will kick off their preseason play with a road tilt against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 10.

Last season, Kelce caught 93 passes for 984 yards and five touchdowns despite missing two games. In four playoff games, he had 32 receptions for 355 yards and three touchdowns, helping the Chiefs to a second straight Super Bowl championship.

Travis Kelce & Chiefs Open Season vs. Ravens

The Chiefs will kick off their 2024 season against a familiar rival in Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, a rematch from the 2023 AFC title game that Kansas City won 17-10.

Kansas City boasts a 4-1 record against Jackson, with two of those victories coming in Baltimore. Even though it’s Week 1, it’s safe to say this game will carry significant playoff-seeding implications.
