Rap star Snoop Dogg once kept a pet cockroach for six months. The rapper even gave his unusual pet the name “The Gooch.”
Rapper Drop It Like It’s Hot revealed in a recent interview with Nardwuar that his initial intention was to get rid of the cockroach, but he was impressed by its resilience: “In my apartment, there was a cockroach that I couldn’t kill. In fact, I tried to kill it when I first moved in, but it didn’t die. So I named it The Gooch and would often leave food out for it. The Gooch then continued to live its best life as my ‘roommate’ for about six months and just kept growing,” the rap star shared.
For years, Snoop has demonstrated his love for animals by openly endorsing the plant-based meat company Beyond Meat, offering to adopt a stray dog and naming it after himself. The rapper also created the brand Snoop Doggie Doggs, a line of toys and merchandise for dogs.
Snoop Dogg (Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) is a professional rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor from the United States. The rapper caused a sensation among Vietnamese netizens after collaborating with singer Son Tung M-TP on the song “Hãy Trao Cho Anh,” released in 2019.
Despite having a successful career and considerable wealth, few know that Snoop Dogg’s retirement plans are quite simple. He once said, “When I’m no longer a rapper, I’m going to open an ice cream parlor and rename it Scoop Dogg.”
