Samantha Davis, the founder of the charity Little People UK and wife of Harry Potter actor Warwick Davis, has passed away at the age of 53.
In a heartfelt statement, Warwick Davis remembered his beloved wife as his “favorite human,” expressing how much he misses her warm embraces since her passing on March 24. He shared that her absence has left a profound void in their family’s life.
Beyond her role as a charity founder, Samantha was also an actress, appearing alongside Warwick in the final installment of the Harry Potter series in 2010, portraying a goblin character.
The couple, who resided near Peterborough, first met on the set of the film Willow in 1988 and tied the knot three years later.
Warwick Davis, known for his roles in Star Wars, fondly referred to Samantha as “Sammy,” highlighting her role as his most trusted confidante and unwavering supporter throughout his career.
“She had a unique personality, always finding the bright side of life with her sharp sense of humor, even finding amusement in my terrible jokes,” Davis reminisced.
He reflected on how, with his wife’s unwavering support, he felt invincible, likening it to possessing a superpower.
“Without Sammy, there would be no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series, and no Idiot Abroad Series 3,” Davis acknowledged. He credited his wife with convincing comedian Ricky Gervais to include him in the travel series with Karl Pilkington.
Their children, Harrison and Annabelle, joined in honoring their mother, expressing gratitude for her love and happiness that guided them throughout their lives. “Mom was our closest companion, and we feel privileged to have experienced a love as special as hers,” they shared.
Davis is known for his roles as Professor Flitwick and the goblin Griphook in the Harry Potter film series, as well as various characters in the Star Wars franchise. He also starred in both the original Willow film and its 2022 sequel.
