There is no doubt that the pressure is increasing in Indiana and everyone in the team is feeling it.
With that said, it is a learning curve and an up-hill battle for a team that has potential, but it is not quite there yet and now, after starting the season winless in four tries, the pressure has been mounting on.
Caitlin Clark’s teammates are beginning to feel it even more so than front office members and the coaching staff, something that is no surprise considering that the players are the ones performing on the court but some interestingly strange has happened due to it.
According to ESPN’s Holly Rowe, the Fever’s Aliyah Boston has deleted her Twitter account because of criticism from their fans.
“They’re definitely feeling this early attention on them. I spoke with Aliyah Boston and she said I had to delete Twitter from my phone, she says the only safe app right now on her phone is TikTok, where it’s friendly and she can scroll fast enough if there’s anything negative…but they’re feeling it,” the writer posted.
It is true that it is a young team, but they need to handle adversity, it will come to the more experienced players and the coaching staff to straight things out.
Caitlin Clark puts the Fever on the national spotlight
The current WNBA season, the Indian Fever will play 36 of their 40 games on national television, something that there are not custom to do. All that spotlight because of their rookie star, can make them camera shy and underperform.
Media attention is different than in the past and now the only solution is wining, however it is true that the number of media members will remain the same in terms of coverage but at least they will have w’s in their pocket.
