The UConn star said she “has a lot to prove.”
Not as prominent as Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese and South Carolina are grabbing most of the headlines, but Paige Bueckers is still strong and staying in top form throughout the 2023-24 season.
Paige Bueckers talks about the controversial foul at the end of the UConn-Iowa game. After a year of recovery from knee surgery, Bueckers led UConn to the NCAA Tournament semifinals, where the limping Huskies fell to Caitlin Clark and Iowa.
Although it was a sad thing, it was still an impressive season for UConn.
Paige Bueckers positive message after Iowa loss
After taking some time to collect her thoughts, Bueckers posted an end-of-season message on Instagram.
“A full season of healthy basketball, I am forever grateful. Extremely proud, but far from satisfied.
A season of overcoming adversity, building character, faith, hope and strength. Against all odds, wouldn’t trade this team for the world. Still got a whole lot left to prove.”
With Clark now out of college basketball, Bueckers has a clear path to becoming the most marketable player in women’s college basketball next season.
Bueckers and JuJu Watkins are perhaps the most talented players in college entering the 2024-25 season.
Bueckers is looking to return to the National Championship, where she fell to South Carolina in 2022.
This year’s loss to Clark looks to give Bueckers and UConn even more motivation.
