‘I don’t even know if that’s a picture I want,’ the country music singer admitted in a new interview while recalling how he almost met Diddy.
The investigation into sex trafficking involving Sean “Diddy” Combs isn’t the first time other celebrities have raised questions about him. Country music singer and rapper Jelly Roll recalled declining the opportunity to meet and take a photo with the music producer and explained why in a recent interview.
During a discussion on the “Cancelled with Tana Mongeau” podcast last week – before his win at the CMT Music Awards over the weekend – Jelly Roll, 39, had the chance to chat with Diddy, 54, in October 2023 when they both appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“This is the first time in my career, ever, where they said, ‘Do you want to meet such-and-such?’ And I said, ‘Yeah,’ and I started walking that way,” shared the “Son of a Sinner” artist. “And as I was getting down the hallway – this is a true story – I said, ‘Nah,’ and went and got back in the car. Swear. I don’t know what it was.”
Jelly Roll reveals he initially agreed to meet Diddy when someone asked him while he was on Jimmy Kimmel's show, but as he was walking down the hallway, he got a strange feeling that made him question whether he really wanted a picture with Diddy; then, he decided not to do it… pic.twitter.com/tc3FECbrtO

Jelly Roll continued by mentioning that he initially “made a joke” about meeting Diddy, confessing that this also contributed to his feeling that the opportunity wasn’t in his favor.
“I was like, ‘Who doesn’t want to meet the guy that got Tupac [Shakur] killed?’ And nobody thought that was funny, so I was like, ‘Ooh, that was a bomb, maybe I shouldn’t go do this anyway,'” Jelly Roll added.
Towards the end of the conversation, the Tennessee native expressed feeling uneasy in that moment without a clear reason.
“I was just like, ‘I don’t know,'” he concluded. “Very seldom do things rub me in a way where I was like, ‘I don’t even know if that’s a picture I want.'”
Jelly Roll’s remarks come amidst Diddy’s ongoing legal troubles. In recent months, multiple women have come forward with sexual assault allegations against the rapper. Last month, his residences in Los Angeles and Miami were raided by Homeland Security in connection with a sex trafficking investigation. Diddy’s lawyer criticized the raids as a “gross overuse of military-level force,” stating, “There has been no finding of criminal or civil liability with any of these allegations. Mr. Combs is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name.”
