University of Texas football coach Jeff Banks tied the knot last weekend.

The Longhorns assistant coach and special teams coordinator took to social media to announce he got married, posting a photo of himself with his new bride, Danielle Thomas.

“Incredible 72 hours with our family and closest friends,” he wrote as the caption to the Instagram photo, which shows them smiling. “We truly love you all. Now off to Barcelona for our honeymoon!”

Jeff and Danielle have been together for around three years and were hit with a strange lawsuit back in 2021 when a couple sued them with claims that Thomas’ monkey bit their child.

“Instead of showing any semblance of care for an injured child, Danielle Thomas was instead worried about the risk of her monkey being taken away. … Danielle Thomas stated to the physician that the monkey had bitten her before and that she was fine, implying that the monkey therefore did not have rabies,” the suit claimed.

Thomas was identified as “Pole Assassin” in the lawsuit, which was her stage name while she worked as an exotic dancer. The “Poleassassin” alias is also in her Instagram bio.

When ESPN covered the case, they noted that Thomas had made an appearance on ‘The Jerry Springer Show’ with the monkey.

Jeff Banks Has Been Great For The University of Texas

Banks, meanwhile, was starting off at the University of Texas during the case. But it appeared he put it behind him quickly as he moved on from strength to strength with the program.

Kicker Bert Auburn set school records with 29 field goals – in of them in a row – and 143 points under his tutelage last year. Texas went on to win the Big 12 title and went to the College Football Playoff.

The 49-year-old also helped Alabama win a national championship while working with Nick Saban in 2020.
