Tha Dogg Pound have made it clear that the chatter surrounding their split is in fact untrue, leaving no doubts regarding their status as they team up with Snoop Dogg on a new single.
On Wednesday (April 17), Tha Doggfather teamed up with fellow West Coast MCs Kurupt and Daz Dillingger on a new joint titled “Smoke Up.” The music video opens with a number of key figures in Hip Hop such as Big Boy, Xzibit, Cam’ron and more expressing disappointment at the aforementioned rumor.
The “Gin and Juice” hitmaker then addresses the hearsay and sets the record straight by succinctly stating: “Fuck what you heard.” Once the song takes off, he doubles down with the bars: “Somebody said the Dogg Pound broke up/ Shut yo bitch ass up, n-gga, now smoke up.”
As the visual went live, Dillinger took to social media and announced that the above joint isn’t just a one-off release but in fact part of a full-length project.

All three MCs were once singed to Death Row Records, which Snoop purchased last year. Soon after, he welcomed the imprint’s iconic catalog back to streaming.
The Long Beach native caught fans by surprise in early 2023 by announcing that the gangsta-rap label’s discography will return to streaming services.“We heard you. The time has come. Death Row Records catalog is back streaming everywhere tonight 9pm PST,” he wrote on Instagram next to a Death Row-themed video montage.
Also available on Spotify, TIDAL and other platforms, Death Row’s catalog includes essential ’90s rap releases such as Dr. Dre’sThe Chronic, Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle and Tha Doggfather, 2Pac’sAll Eyez On Me and The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, and Tha Dogg Pound’sDogg Food.
