This year, Team USA features a formidable roster with a dozen NBA legends, including six players who are 30 or older. Joel Embiid, a key 30-year-old player, recently remarked that the stars of Team USA might be past their prime.

However, Embiid’s comments didn’t sit well with veteran Kevin Durant. The all-time leading scorer for Team USA responded to Embiid’s remarks.

“Sure, we’re older and have accumulated some wear and tear, but we find ways to stay effective, just as (Embiid) has managed to do despite his injuries. The essence of greatness is adapting and continuing to be effective,” Durant said in a press statement on Thursday.

Durant then went on to mention LeBron James’ endurance on the court. Recently, Jeff Teague also shared James’ stamina on the court, sharing a story about James playing through a serious ankle injury.

That’s what LeBron has done. He’s not running and jumping the same way he was when he was 25, 26 years old, but he’s still jumping pretty high and running pretty fast,” Durant added.

Kevin Durant Shares Honest Response Whether Celtics’ NBA Title Was Discussed

Among Team USA’s stars, the Boston Celtics’ stars Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White are coming off a season winning an NBA title with the Celtics. Nevertheless, Kevin Durant does not have much time to have a special chat with the Celtics champion stars.

During a Team USA press conference, the Phoneix Suns star faced questions on whether they had talked about the Celtics’ NBA title.

Not at all. We got champs on the team, they just the most recent,” he said.

For Durant, an NBA title is an achievement he already has added to his resume. He won back-to-back NBA titles during his time with the Golden State Warriors. His eyes are now on the Paris Olympics, in which he will be eyeing another gold medal.
