“I got some people here that say they gonna beat me in ping-pong, 21-0, I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it,” responded Edwards, who is coming off the best season of his career. Despite his confidence, it’s likely Edwards would indeed lose 21-0 to any of the team members, and even if the score went up to 40, “Antman” would still probably lose 40-0. The skill level of the selected players is among the best in the world, just as Edwards is unbeatable on the basketball court.

What’s Next for Both Teams

For the table tennis teamAmy Wang secured an impressive 4-0 victory against Tommy Priscila of Vanuatu in their first matchup. Tomorrow, the team continues with several players participating in their respective events. Meanwhile, the U.S. basketball team begins their quest for gold against NBA MVP Nikola Jokic and the Serbian national team at 11:15 am EST. Just under two weeks ago, the U.S. already defeated Serbia in a preparatory match for the Olympics.

With both teams ready to showcase their talents, the excitement for the competitions ahead is palpable. The opening ceremony has set the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable Olympic Games in Paris.
