While Kate Middleton and Princess Charlotte enjoyed the tennis matches at Wimbledon and Prince William accompanied Prince George to the UEFA European Championship soccer game on July 14, their youngest child, Prince Louis, missed out on the sports outings.

The weekend was filled with athletic events for the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 42, and their two eldest children. However, some wondered about the whereabouts of 6-year-old Prince Louis, with one social media user humorously suggesting he was “partying at home” in a “Home Alone” style while his family was out.

Prince George, aged 10, and Princess Charlotte, aged 9, have attended Wimbledon twice already, but historically, royal children typically attend the event around the age of 8. Following this precedent, Prince Louis may not make his debut at the tennis tournament for another two years.

Wimbledon enforces strict rules for spectators, as outlined in their Code of Conduct Guide, which includes maintaining silence during rallies. Any excessive noise during matches can result in ejection from the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

While Prince George and Princess Charlotte have attended soccer matches with their parents in a private capacity since they were young, it’s only recently that George has joined his parents at games where they hold official roles. Prince William serves as president of the Football Association, England’s soccer governing body, and often fulfills duties such as presenting awards during significant matches.

Prince William and Prince George were dressed in matching suits and ties for the soccer final, where Spain defeated England 2-1.

Meanwhile, Princess Kate, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis stayed home while the soccer game took place in Germany. The Prince and Princess of Wales shared a rare photo of their younger children watching the match on television. The royal children wore personalized soccer jerseys featuring their names and ages as their numbers.

“@England, your teamwork, determination, and resilience were inspiring to all of us, both young and old. Congratulations to Spain. W & C,” the couple posted on social media, using their initials to indicate the message was directly from them.

Prince Louis also stayed back on June 21, when Prince William took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour show in London on his 42nd birthday. The royals snapped rare selfies with the music superstar and her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and the image posted to Swift’s Instagram account was significant as her social media debut with the Kansas City Chiefs star.

Princess Kate didn’t attend the concert either, as she has maintained a low profile this year after announcing in March that she is undergoing treatment for cancer. Her appearance at Wimbledon on July 14 was her second public event of 2024, following Trooping the Colour on June 15.

Princess Kate was close to her children throughout the pageantry for the parade for King Charles’ official birthday, where Prince Louis’ cheeky charm was on full display. Fan footage captured the little prince yawning, dancing and playing with curtains in the window of the Major General’s Office, where he watched the presentation of flags with Princess Kate, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

“He’s a cheeky monkey — a typical third child,” an insider close to the royal family previously told PEOPLE about Louis.

While Prince Louis has attended some major royal events including Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022 and King Charles’ coronation in 2023, his siblings often step up to show him the royal ropes.

At Trooping the Colour last month, Prince Louis turned around to chat with his dad behind him, but Prince George appeared to tell his brother, “Turn around,” and gestured for him to face forward. Elsewhere during the day, Princess Charlotte was spotted telling her little brother how to hold his arms as the national anthem played and appeared to tell Prince Louis to “stop” as he danced around to the band’s music.
