From rising as a standout wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers to earning a reputation as the “Center of Controversy,” Antonio Brown’s path has been a tumultuous journey. Since his sudden departure from the football field in 2021, Brown’s behavior has transitioned from scoring touchdowns to engaging in provocative actions, frequently leading to legal issues and unfavorable public perception.

Despite endeavors to pursue a career in the music industry, Brown’s tendency to instigate trouble has persisted unchecked. With a lengthy record of off-field incidents, including social media eruptions, accusations of violence, and encounters with law enforcement, Brown’s infamous reputation precedes him. Now, the spotlight is once again on him as he directs his attention towards a new target: Caitlin Clark, the rising star of Iowa women’s basketball.

Brown is known for his erratic behavior both on and off the field. Recently, he posted a GIF on his X account with a crude caption targeting the standout player of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Caitlin Clark. In his caption, Brown made a vulgar jab at Clark, writing, “Caitlin Clark looks like she keeps it hairy.”

Clark has been Brown’s target ever since she made headlines for becoming the all-time leading scorer in women’s college basketball. Earlier, Brown made some controversial comments about Clark’s ‘masculine’ voice and appearance, which put her at the center of attention.

Antonio Brown called Clark “Mel Gibson”
In February, the Iowa women’s basketball star scored 49 points against the Michigan Wolverines, gaining worldwide attention for breaking a record that was untouched for the last fifty years. As Fox College Hoops made a post featuring her and congratulated her for becoming the NCAA women’s basketball scoring leader, Brown reposted the tweet. However, instead of congratulating her, Brown opted for trolling her appearance and captioned the post with: “B***h look like Mel Gibson #CTESPN.

However, following severe backlash from numerous fans over the former NFL wide receiver’s remarks about Clark, Brown later took to the internet in an attempt to mitigate the fallout, claiming that his earlier comments were merely intended as humor. A day after likening Clark’s appearance to that of Mel Gibson, Brown wrote: “It was all in jest, just entertainment.

Despite Brown’s critique, Clark’s exceptional career and remarkable achievements shone through, propelling her to become the top pick in the 2024 WNBA draft. After her standout senior season at the University of Iowa, Clark cemented her position in the professional league by being selected as the No. 1 draft pick by the Indiana Fever. Reflecting on her journey, she remarked, “I dreamed of this moment since I was in second grade, it has taken a lot of hard work, ups, and downs.”
