There’s no question that Caitlin Clark is the moment of the 2024 WNBA season. But, the arrival of the Indiana Fever’s No. 1 overall pick signals far more than just a singular moment in the league’s history.

Clark made sure to make that fact very clear when asked about the skyrocketing popularity of the WNBA.

“It’s moreso a movement than a moment,” Clark said, via the Fever’s official X account.

Indiana shared this quote before tipoff of its matchup against the Dallas Wings on Wednesday night.

Clark’s arrival in the WNBA has come with unprecedented fanfare and excitement. Seemingly every time she takes the court, the league sets a new record for fan attendance and TV viewership.

Clark is the catalyst for this excitement, but the overall WNBA product ensures that this sensation is not just a flash in the pan. Attendance and TV ratings are up across the board — not just for Fever games.

Clark and the Fever will face off against the Wings in their final contest before the league’s month-long midseason break. Clark will take the court again when she and the rest of her All-Star teammates matchup against Team USA on July 20.
