Patrick Mahomes and wife Brittany took to social media on Monday to announce that they are expecting their third child, with a raft of famous names responding to the news.
Caitlin Clark and Taylor Swift were among those congratulating the Mahomes family
Pop music sensation Taylor Swift and WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark were among the celebrities who took to social media to celebrate the announcement that Patrick and Brittany Mahomes are expecting their third child.
The NFL superstar and his wife, a former soccer player, already have two children – daughter Sterling Skye and son Patrick ‘Bronze’ Lavon Mahomes III. Since tying the knot in March 2022, the couple has evolved from high school sweethearts into one of the most recognizable pairs globally.
Upon the news of their growing family, they received numerous congratulatory messages from famous faces across various fields. The couple disclosed the joyful news on Instagram, where they shared a photo posing together while holding a sonogram.
The post visually portrays their picture-perfect domestic life, as it also features a video clip of their two children playfully running around while their doting parents proudly watch. Looking ahead excitedly, they captioned their joint post with: “Round three, here we come”.

Among those interacting with the post was singer Swift, who liked the post, and WNBA player Clark, who commented: “Awhhh congrats!!!”. This interaction follows recent commendation from Brittany towards the basketball player, where Brittany praised her: “@caitlinclark22 keep doing your thing! ! You’re a baller and it’s incredible to see what you’re doing for the game and women’s sports!!”.
Golf superstar Brooks Koepka’s partner, Jena Sims, was also on hand to extend her congratulations to the couple, stating: “Good things happen in 3’s -congrats!”. Patrick Mahomes’ younger brother, Jackson Mahomes, also expressed his excitement about becoming an uncle for the third time, saying, “Can’t wait to be an uncle to 3!”.
Following Patrick’s recent accolades, including the ESPYS “Best NFL Player” Award and the “Best Male Athlete” Award, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid had nothing but praise for the quarterback. He commented: “I’ve been around this kid for few years now. To watch him grow as a football player, as a teammate, as a leader has been phenomenal.
“But more than that, to watch him grow as a father and as a husband has probably been the best part of that,” he continued, speaking from personal experience about the growth his player has shown under his guidance. “We’re very lucky to have him in Kansas City.”
In addition, the three-time Super Bowl winner shared his thoughts on fatherhood ahead of the NFL showpiece in Las Vegas last February. Before leading his team to victory, he remarked: “I think you learn a ton being a father, man. You learn how to be patient,”.
“You learn how to try to really boost people’s confidence, especially your kids. Through seasons like I’ve had this last year, it’s never losing hope, never going too negative in adverse times. Just continue to boost people’s confidence, continue to strive for hard work and really be patient.”
