You wouldn’t think that an exhibition game holding zero weight in the grand scheme of a WNBA season would be the source of much passion, but when you’ve talked the talk that legend Diana Taurasi has over the past several months, it gets a bit tough when you can’t walk the walk.

Taurasi and Team USA fell to the WNBA All-Star Team in the All-Star Game on Saturday night, 117-109. Arike Ogunbowale scored 34 points in the second half of the game for the All-Star team, putting them out ahead of Team USA in the highly anticipated exhibition game.

Afterward, some cameras caught Taurasi’s post-game message to Team USA, where she let out an expletive-laden message about how frustrated she was, but how the team needed to let this drive them before the Summer Olympics next month.

This s**t f***ing sucks,” Taurasi said. “But it’s a good reminder, we gotta come to play no matter who we are.”

While some fans on social media mocked Taurasi for losing to the WNBA Team full of rookies and Olympic snubs after talking a big game all year, others were motivated by her message to her teammates.

It might have been the wake-up call that Team USA needed ahead of the Olympics, where they now know that they are capable of being beaten. I would be surprised to see them lose in the Olympics now after having this butt-whooping from the WNBA All-Star team.
