Angel Reese has been trending for multiple reasons since helping the LSU Tigers win a women’s national championship on the weekend.
She’s quite possibly the most popular NCAA athlete at the moment after attracting media attention, praise, and criticism for her taunting of Iowa’s Caitlin Clark toward the end of the final.
“All year, I was critiqued for who I was. I don’t fit the narrative,” Reese said after the game. “I don’t fit the box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. When other people do it, and y’all don’t say nothing.
“So this is for the girls that look like me. For those that want to speak up for what they believe in. It’s unapologetically you. And that’s what I [did] before tonight. It was bigger than me tonight. And Twitter is going to go into a rage every time.”

Caitlin has said at least a few times that she has no problem with Angel’s actions, especially as she offered similar taunts herself during the tournament.
Teasing an opponent is one thing, but beefing with the First Lady is a whole other kettle. But Angel has managed to garner attention for both in the space of just a few days, laughing off Jill Biden suggesting both LSU and Iowa should visit the White House and also rejecting the invitation on those grounds.
The LSU star has also been flirting with rapper NBA YoungBoy lately. You can see some of their interactions right below:
The rapper shot his shot and seems to be getting the reaction he was after.
It’s going to be interesting to see where this leads to. And we’re going to be right there for it.
